Dear Bass River Pediatrics families,
We hope that you are all well and remain healthy during this difficult time. We wanted to let you know about the current steps we are taking to provide care to our families during the current situation.
The office remains open. To keep everyone as safe as possible, all toys and magazines have been removed from exam rooms and the waiting room is closed. Patients and family are asked to wait in their vehicles until they are escorted into the building by a nurse. All people entering our building are screened for fever prior to entry. We ask that everyone over the age of 2 wear a mask and that only 1 parent accompany the child into the building. If possible, please leave siblings at home to decrease exposure. Exam rooms are meticulously cleaned between patients.
Families who choose to come to the office can expect to have no contact with other families while attending.
As an additional safety measure, well visits at the office are being conducted at separate times of day from sick visits. We are also available to do virtual visits (via FaceTime, Google Duo, Doxy.me or other platforms) for children who are due for their wellness exams, asthma follow ups and medication checks, if parents choose that option. Select sick visits may also be done in that format as well.
Sick patients will be screened over the phone for COVID risk and triaged per DPH and local guidelines. Anyone with suspicious symptoms will not be allowed in the building.
Depending on symptoms, certain children will be seen either in the office at designated times when well visits are not scheduled, or outside in their vehicles.
It is important that children continue to receive their routine care, most importantly, well visits and immunizations for babies under the age of 2 years.
Please call to schedule a visit for your child either at the office or virtually. We look forward to a time when we can see everyone in person again.
Stay well,
The Staff at Bass River Pediatrics
